Expatriate workers are often faced with a lot of challenges. They have to relocate, meet new people learn new cultures, new ways of doing things, deal with local bureaucracies etc. This can be stressful and our expat orientation program helps ease this transition.
Getting an expatriate worker on board always involves an investment in training, physical relocation of the worker and of course the cost of the worker. They are always expected to start work immediately and be productive. This is where the orientation comes in. It is the process of making the expatriate worker feel at home, prepared for the new location of work, and of course ready to get started on the job.
So your team member recently arrived? They will need to get some local administration work and registrations done. What seems normal for locals might not be straight forward for your recently arrived expat team member.
Many of the issues that occur on the ground might need immediate locally relevant advice. Your HR team(s) might not be able to advise on where to get a nanny, or a visit to the best schools, places of worship etc.. Setting up office spaces or moving from one workspace to another can get really intense and stressful at some point when one finds it hard to find a space of preference that falls in one’s budget
